Edited by Subhajit Bandopadhyay, Anshu Rastogi, Barnali Das
The need for climate-resilient crops and advanced modelling techniques is greater than ever in an era where climate change poses serious threats to global agriculture. Leading researchers, agronomists, legislators, and business experts come together for the session, "Advancing Climate Resilient Crops and Modelling Strategies in the Face of Climate Change," to discuss cutting-edge methods and solutions. The goal will be to create crops that can survive harsh weather, including heat waves, droughts, and floods, to promote sustainable agriculture and food security. To improve crop resilience, participants will learn about the most recent developments in modelling of climate-resilient crops through the optimum utilisation of earth observation data. The session will also emphasise how important modelling is for forecasting how the climate will affect agriculture and for informing adaptive measures. To predict agricultural productivity under different climate scenarios, experts will present state-of-the-art models that combine crop growth patterns, soil health indicators, and climate data. To promote collaboration among stakeholders and expedite the development and implementation of resilient agricultural practices, interactive sessions will facilitate knowledge exchange. In the face of persistent climate challenges, eLTER science conference seeks to pave the way for a sustainable and secure food future by addressing modelling aspects of climate resilience.
